Award Scholarship Guidelines 

In order to qualify for the Canadian County Livestock Show Scholarship Program:

 

1.      Be a graduating high school senior in May 2007.

2.      Applicant must be an exhibitor at the Canadian County Spring Livestock Show and Canadian County Free Fair.  Judges will consider each applicant’s scope of participation at both the Free Fair and Spring Livestock Show.

3.      Scholarship will be decided by:

 

 

w        50% - Resume’ (not to exceed 2 pages) and the attached application

w        40% - Interview

w        10% - Special showmanship contest at the 2007 Canadian County Spring Livestock Show.

4.      The selection committee will pre-screen and select up to 5 applicants for interviews.

5.      Before the interview begins, the applicant is required to make a 3 to 5 minute presentation about themselves and their career(s) in 4-H and/or FFA.

6.      Submit, with the application and resume’, a copy of his/her high school and/or college transcript verifying GPA.

7.      Must attend a college or university in Oklahoma.  Student’s major is their choice and is not a criterion in the selection process.

8.      Claim and use the scholarship award in the Academic Year (excluding the summer term) immediately following selection, one-half of the award to be applied to the fall semester expenses and one-half to be applied to the spring semester expenses.

9.      Apply scholarship funds toward books, tuition, fees and other college related expenses.

10.  Deadline for submission is January 31, 2007 at 4:30 p.m. at the Canadian County OSU Extension Office or if mailed, must be postmarked by January 31, 2007.

11.  This scholarship is intended to be funded on an annual basis.  Funding is contingent upon availability of funds and at the sole discretion of the Canadian County Fairboard.

12.  Selection of the recipients will be made by a committee appointed by the Canadian County Fairboard.
